Windows XP Pro
Click Start -> Run -> GPEDIT.MSC
Click OK or hit Enter key to open up the Group Policy
Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> highlight System
Near the bottom of right-hand side panel, scroll down and you will see Turn off Autoplay
Right-click Turn off Autoplay -> Properties
The default is the Not configured, so you have to select either Enabled or Disabled radio button
Click OK and you’re done.

Click Start -> Run -> REGEDIT
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> policies -> Explorer
Create a new value called: NoDriveTypeAutoRun
Type is: DWORD
Value is: 0×000000b1 (177)
Note: To undo this change, set the NoDriveTypeAutoRun value back to 91 (145) instead of b1 (177)

This tip will help you to shutdown computer without pop-up a message telling you that a program is still running.
Click Start -> Run -> type regedit -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Control Panel -> Desktop -> Right-click AutoEndTasks -> select Modify -> change Value Data to 1 -> Reboot computer

If you’re able to recognize all the symbol icons on your destop correspond to what programs?
1. Click Start
2. Select My Computer
3. Click Tools
4. Click Folder Options
5. On the View tab check mark Hide Extensions For Known File Types
6. Click Apply
7. Right-click on the icon that you want to remove the text
8. Select Rename
9. Press the ALT key down and hold it
10. Using keypad, type 255
11. Release the ALT key and hit Enter

Open Notepad > click File > Save As > Save the .txt file to Desktop > rename it to whatever.reg
Right-click whatever.reg file and choose “edit”
Paste the following code into it:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\Defrag\Command]
@=”defrag.exe %1 -f -v”
Save and close
Double click whatever.reg and answer yes/ok to the questions
Right click a drive and choose ‘Defrag’ option to defragment
MS-Dos window will be closed after it’s done defragment
