Displaying Icons Faster in Windows XP

Windows automatically searches for network folders and printers. This can cause a delay in displaying your icons, to stop windows from automatically searching, do the following:

1. On your Desktp, double-click on My Computer
2. Click Tools menu on the top
3. Select Folder Options
4. Click View tab
5. Uncheck the Automatically search for network folders and printers box
6. Click Apply
7. Click OK to exit
